I knew I could be more
Meet your trainer, Liz Wool
You can be exceptionally good at what you do and
still be overlooked. Expertise cannot
open doors if nobody hears it.
I know that gap personally. I
was a childhood stutterer, and speaking was the thing I avoided.
Then came a job I wanted
— a great one — and it required speaking in front of hundreds of people. To
have the future I wanted, I had to overcome my fear. I did.
Speaking became how
I built my business and reached stages around the world. I have lived the
transformation I now teach.
Here is what makes the
difference: I am not a speaker giving advice about speaking. I am a Certified
Master Trainer and instructional designer. Advice tells you what to do.
Training builds what you can do.
For more than 30 years I have
been an international speaker and trainer — teaching, training, and
transforming audiences worldwide.
I have led training
organizations at Gilead Sciences, Scios, and Barnett Educational Services, and
built workforce development programs for corporate and nonprofit organizations.
I held faculty positions at the University of California, Berkeley; the University
of California, Santa Cruz; and San Francisco State University, and today teach
executive presence to graduate students at Rutgers Health.
Speakers aren’t born. They’re built. That is what this Academy exists to do.
